My head is brimming with new information following the great talk last night by former BBC journalist and filmmaker Charlotte Windle Mikkelborg.
Organised by @ThemediahubUK, Charlotte took us through her experience on Immersive Journalism and 360 Filmaking. Although I work in a parallel universe so to speak – journalism vrs the commercial world, the take out was the same – this new technology will take brand storytelling to a whole new powerful level.
The area of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AV) and 360 filming is one to watch. And we are already seeing high street brands such as Lego, Ikea and Top Shop using these new technologies to create multi sensory campaigns and build stronger connections with their audience.
So my homework for the weekend is to read up and find out more on some of the terminology used in last nights presentation – Volumetric Characters being one of them!
